A Stella Performance

Greetings 2013! And here’s my first job of the year, shot back in January, filming the Constella Orchestra‘s New Year concert at St Margaret’s Church in Lee, south London. Constella comprises some of the best student musicians in the UK, so the standard of playing is very high. Run by students for students, the level commitment is also very high. I was part of a three-person crew along with director Heathcliff Blair and cameraman Jonathan Cronin, and the programme was Ravel, Kodály and Poulenc, so there was lots of swirling, sensuous lushness to be enjoyed. It was a pleasure to film and a great kick off to the year. Direction and edit by Heathcliff. Bonus: there’s a fleeting glimpse of me on the right at 00:26 as conductor Leo Geyer and the first violin walk out. Hitchcock moment!
