From Lebanon With Love

Back in May I was commissioned to make a short video about London’s Moro Restaurant and their Sunday Lunch Club. The theme of the day was the food and wine of Lebanon – a region beloved of Moro’s owners and head chefs, Sam and Sam Clark. While they provided the flavoursome food, the wine was provided by the Bekaa Valley-based Massaya and Co, managed by Sami Ghosn, who chatted to guests and presented a slideshow about his vineyard as everyone tucked into their multi-course lunch. The food was amazing but alas I never got to sample the wines as I can never drink when I’m working (drat), but it’s probably just as well I didn’t sample the anise-flavoured Arak aperatif – delicious but lethal!
Of course, this delightful day at Moro took place before the violence in Syria started spilling over the border into Lebanon. So here’s a wish for peace in the region. A real and lasting peace.
