Here in the UK we’re still stuck in a winter so stubborn we may have to rename our nation Narnia. But if you’re inclined towards a bit of outdoor activity or lucky enough to live in warmer climes, can I suggest inline skating as fun way to get fit and enjoy your urban spaces and places? If you always wanted to try but don’t know how, can I also suggest the Skatefresh App as a teaching aid? There’s a video connection here of course. For most of last summer I shot the footage for this app with Skatefresh founder and head instructor, Asha Kirkby, in a north west London park, working with the all the variables like passing trains, dogs, kids, fitness freaks, but mostly the weather. The result is a comprehensive guide to inline skating skills for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced students. Download for iPhone or Android (note: some technical issues exist with the Android versions – only Intermediate and Advanced currently available. Skatefresh is working to fix this). Happy skating!
